🎾 Sinner's Crown, Swiatek's Reign & Wimbledon's Wobble

Wimbledon 2025 delivered a thrilling climax as Jannik Sinner finally had his crowning moment. The 23-year-old Italian, usually so calm, crouched down in reflection before celebrating with his ecstatic team. He famously avenged his French Open heartbreak from five weeks prior, where championship points slipped away. This time, Sinner triumphed against his biggest rival, Carlos Alcaraz, for the first time in six attempts, ending Alcaraz's 24-win streak and quest for a three-peat.

Of course, no major sporting event is without its talking points. Both Sinner and women's champion Iga Swiatek had served short doping bans earlier in the year. While Sinner's was deemed "inadvertent contamination," it certainly left a "bitter taste" for some. Aussie firebrand Nick Kyrgios didn't hold back, stating that the champions' presence in the final "didn't look good for the sport." Yet, he grudgingly admitted they played "incredible tennis."

Speaking of incredible, Iga Swiatek absolutely dominated the women's singles final, serving up a rare double bagel against Amanda Anisimova. It was a display of pure power and precision. Both champions proved their mettle on the court, delivering high-stakes tennis despite the whispers.

But perhaps the most memorable moment came after the trophies were lifted. At the Champions Dinner, Jannik and Iga stole the show not with rackets, but with dance moves! They took to the center of the hall, performing a fun, light dance to Dua Lipa's 'Levitating.' Fans quickly dubbed it "the most human moment of Wimbledon," captivated by seeing these elite athletes simply enjoying themselves.

😯 LeBron's Trade Buzz, Flagg's Summer Fire & Drake's Fresh Ink

LeBron James dominated the weekend’s news after trade rumors involving four teams came to the fore. After appearing at a Bad Bunny concert, he arrived at the Summer League in Las Vegas to watch his son, Bronny James, play while rebuffing ESPN’s attempts to ask him about his situation.

After dueling with James’ son in his 1st Summer League game, Cooper Flagg put up a 31-point performance in his 2nd game to remind fans he is what the hype says about him. After that game, the Mavericks shut him down for the rest of the Summer League.

Continuing with Mavericks news, Klay Thompson broke the internet after making his relationship with Megan Thee Stallion official. Another relationship to become more than official was when Donovan Mitchell went down on his knee to propose to Coco Jones.

Kevin Durant is looking towards new beginnings in Houston, but decided to spend time with $70 million man, Devin Booker, at a Drake concert. The duo dapped the Canadian rapper, who covered up his LeBron James tattoo with one of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

Celtics HC Joe Mazzulla stunned fans after he coined an idea to run situation rooms so that people can re-enact situations such as the Bin Laden raid. On the other hand, Stephen A. Smith’s defense of President Donald Trump’s decision to suppress the Epstein files met with some backlash.

🏀 Clark's Turnaround, Reese's Reign & Tournebize's Thunder

WNBA legend Candace Parker revealed that traveling with Shaquille O’Neal on his private jet can lead to some headaches. His non-stop loud DJ’ing led to no rest for the 3-time champion.

With the All-Star weekend coming up, fans wanted Caitlin Clark to rediscover her form. Even though her shooting from deep was still suspect, she managed to use her assists and shots closer to the basket to help her Fever win against Paige Bueckers’ Wings.

She overcame the Wings’ physical defense, giving hope that she has started to work around tough coverages. The two college rivals and close friends praised each other both before and after the game.

Angel Reese and her Chicago Sky were inching closer to defeating top teams. Their efforts bore fruit when the forward, along with her fellow Skyscraper, Kamilla Cardoso, proved to be too much for the league-leading Lynx.

Reese has been on a sensational run of form and is starting to quell the criticism about her game. However, she did not escape comedian Katt Williams’ jibe, which seems to stem from the overall notion basketball lovers have of the Sky forward.

France’s Alicia Tournebize wowed basketball fans after throwing down a two-handed dunk over Belgium in the FIBA U18 Eurobasket. The 17-year-old has started to garner comparisons to fellow Frenchman Victor Wembanyama.

⚾️ Belli Bombs, Holliday's Next Chapter & Willits' History

The MLB world delivered plenty of fireworks this week, both on the field and in the draft room. Cody Bellinger, now with the New York Yankees, had an absolutely explosive return against his former team, the Chicago Cubs. He launched three two-run home runs in that game.

Bellinger nearly made history, just missing a fourth homer after a spectacular robbery by Kyle Tucker. Still, his performance was electric. He became the third Yankees star this season to hit three dingers in a single game, joining Jasson Dominguez and Aaron Judge in that exclusive club. It was quite a statement against his old squad.

Meanwhile, the 2025 MLB Draft brought some exciting new talent into the league. Ethan Holliday, a highly touted prospect, was selected by the Colorado Rockies with the No. 4 overall pick. This is a special moment for the Holliday family, as Ethan is following in the footsteps of his father, Matt Holliday, who was drafted by the Rockies in 1998 and became a franchise icon.

The draft also saw a new piece of history made. Eli Willits became the third youngest player ever to be taken with the No. 1 overall pick. At just 17 years and 216 days old, he joins an elite group that includes legends like Ken Griffey Jr. and Tim Foli, marking a bright future for these young stars.
