⚾️ Judge's Milestone, A Scary Collision & A Postseason Comeback
In the Bronx, a new home run king is steadily making his way up the legendary list. Yankees star Aaron Judge blasted his 43rd homer of the season, which also happened to be the 358th of his career.
That milestone puts him in a tie with Hall of Famer Yogi Berra for the fifth spot on the Yankees' all-time home run list. With only three more home runs, he'll tie Joe DiMaggio for fourth place, cementing his place among the franchise's all-time greats.
Over in Houston, the game took a frightening turn. Angels star Taylor Ward was tracking a fly ball when he crashed face-first into the left field wall. His momentum carried him into a metal scoreboard, leaving a massive gash above his right eye. Ward was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, and his teammate Jo Adell was left fuming, calling the stadium design "ridiculous."

Elsewhere, a veteran pitcher has found a new home just in time for a potential postseason run. After a difficult season with the Boston Red Sox, where he posted a 7-7 record with a 5.45 ERA, Walker Buehler was released by the team on Friday. But he didn't stay a free agent for long, as the Philadelphia Phillies swooped in to sign him.
The move is a huge opportunity for Buehler, who is now eligible to be a part of a Phillies squad with World Series aspirations. While his season hasn't been great, a fresh start on a winning team could be exactly what he needs to get back on track. For a pitcher looking to prove himself, there's no better stage than the postseason.
🧺 The Euro-Trip, A Star's Farming Plan & An All-Star's Demotion
With EuroBasket in session, the attention of NBA fans was turned towards the exploits of their European superstars. Luka Doncic and his Slovenian team finally won a game, whereas Nikola Jokic and Giannis Antetokounmpo led their nations to the top of the table.
The latter’s brother, Thanasis Antetokounmpo, has signed a 1-year, $2.9 million deal to return after sitting out last season with an Achilles tear. This more or less confirms that his younger superstar brother will not move to any other team.
Speaking of teams, Dallas Mavericks minority-owner Mark Cuban reiterated his love for his franchise, while claiming that he does not want to see the Los Angeles Lakers succeed, even though his protégé plays for them. But he still loves Doncic and wants to see him excel.

Cuban’s primary superstar is now Kyrie Irving, who has started working out in the gym. In his off-time, he live streams to his fans, in which he claimed he wants to do farming and build wellness villages later in life.
Their GM, Nico Harrison, does not seem to be able to get a breather after a fan walked up to him and heckled him about the Doncic trade, all while he was having dinner with his family. This time, basketball fans defended the Mavs GM.
Next season, NBA fans will not be able to listen to Doris Burke in most of the top NBA games, after the veteran was demoted to ESPN’s 2nd team. Her comments about Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s free-throw bias and World War 2 references possibly played a role in this demotion.
🏀 The Fever's Playoff Fight, Angel's Miss & Officiating Outrage
Since returning from a back injury, Angel Reese has helped the Chicago Sky battle closely with their opponents. But situations such as confusion over a free throw with her head coach cost them a game. Reese now misses out on the playoffs for the 2nd straight year.
Another team in danger of missing the playoffs is the Indiana Fever. Their latest loss to the Golden State Valkyries saw them slide down the table to 8th . Moreover, their performance was concerning as Caitlin Clark stood by and watched her team crumble.
She has ramped up her efforts to return and is currently practicing with the team. They have 4 games left in the regular season. A threat to their playoff position could push the franchise to bring her back.

The Fever are still livid about unfair officiating, the latest call coming from veteran Sydney Colson. She threatened to call her attorney sister and pursue charges after the way their teammate, Kelsey Mitchell, was fouled in their game against the Sparks.
Clark advised her to put a lid on those thoughts, as Fever players and their head coach have been fined a few times. Even Clark was seen walking up to officials and giving them a piece of her mind.
🏈 The Parsons Heartbreak, Kelce's Plea & A Rookie's Letdown
Football fans are yet to come to terms that Micah Parsons is no longer a part of the Dallas Cowboys. A young fan certainly could not accept it and was bawling his eyes out. The star pass rusher apologized and even spoke to him on FaceTime to make up for his heartbreak.
On one hand, Jerry Jones claimed that his Dallas Cowboys will be better off without their young star. On the other hand, many are questioning if Parsons’ addition helps the Green Bay Packers, especially with his postseason no-shows.
Travis Kelce called his hometown Cleveland Browns to start Shedeur Sanders at quarterback, believing the franchise should listen to the demands of fans. The QB’s brother, on the other hand, is looking at creating a life outside of football as opportunities dry up.
Their former Colorado teammate, Travis Hunter, has impressed his teammates and coaches and is set to make history as a rookie to play both sides of the ball when they open their season against the Carolina Panthers this coming Sunday.
College football kicked off in style with a powerhouse game on Friday that featured the No. 1-seeded Texas Longhorns and the defending champion Ohio State Buckeyes. In this top-of-the-table clash, projected No. 1 overall pick Arch Manning disappointed.
He accepted blame for their one-score loss, but analysts were not happy, as they had hoped to see him in his element. In the other powerhouse clash of the week, the Miami Hurricanes won against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, after the latter could not get a throw off with time expiring.
