🏈 The Spitting Scandal, A Star's Drop & Belichick's Bad Day
The 2025 NFL season kicked off with the Philadelphia Eagles facing the Dallas Cowboys at home. The defending champions wanted to start with a win, but were set back before the game began when star defensive tackle Jalen Carter was ejected.
The reason, he spat on Dak Prescott after exchanging some words. Later, clips started to surface showing the Cowboys QB as being the one who spat at the Georgia star first. After the game, Carter did not want to push the blame on the Cowboys QB and apologized.
On the other hand, Prescott clarified that he did not intentionally spit at the D-Lineman. Instead, he was doing what he generally does in a game, just that the Eagles star felt it was meant towards him.

The game was an offensive show in the first half with both sides scoring on every drive to combine for 41 points. In the 2nd half, after an opening drive field goal, neither side scored any points.
Prescott tried to heave a throw to CeeDee Lamb, but he dropped the ball, bringing an end to any chance of the Cowboys winning the game. That was the WR’s 4th drop of the night after opening the game well.
Bill Belichick facing a humiliating defeat at the hands of TCU. Soon after, fans started attacking his girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, for her interference during the game.
President Donald Trump could not help himself and roasted Alabama after losing to the Florida State Seminoles, suggesting that the Crimson Tide is not used to losing if their former coaches were leading them.
💰️ The Ballmer Bombshell, Simmons' Saga & A Bathroom Break
In the offseason, news surrounding the NBA is low. Except, if the investigative podcast Pablo Torre Finds Out had more than 3000 pages worth of proof that billionaire Steve Ballmer allegedly routed $28 million through a now-bankrupt firm to pay star forward Kawhi Leonard.
This, if proven true, could be catastrophic for the Los Angeles Clippers as the NBA does not take any attempts to circumvent the salary cap lightly. The last team to do it, the Minnesota Timberwolves, faced heavy penalties.
Ballmer decided to address the issue and appeared on ESPN to claim that he had nothing to do with the money Leonard earned. Instead, he claimed the company, Aspiration, scammed him out of his investment.
Dallas Mavericks minority owner Mark Cuban felt the same and wondered if Balmer was being painted as the villain for something he had no control over. However, the NBA has launched its own investigation as Pablo Torre claimed he had proof.
How 433 Investors Unlocked 400X Return Potential
Institutional investors back startups to unlock outsized returns. Regular investors have to wait. But not anymore. Thanks to regulatory updates, some companies are doing things differently.
Take Revolut. In 2016, 433 regular people invested an average of $2,730. Today? They got a 400X buyout offer from the company, as Revolut’s valuation increased 89,900% in the same timeframe.
Founded by a former Zillow exec, Pacaso’s co-ownership tech reshapes the $1.3T vacation home market. They’ve earned $110M+ in gross profit to date, including 41% YoY growth in 2024 alone. They even reserved the Nasdaq ticker PCSO.
The same institutional investors behind Uber, Venmo, and eBay backed Pacaso. And you can join them. But not for long. Pacaso’s investment opportunity ends September 18.

In Europe, Luka Doncic and his Slovenian squad clashed against Israel. Before the game, the Lakers' superstar was not around when the Israeli national anthem was being played. When asked after their impressive win, the superstar claimed that he had to run to the bathroom, deftly avoiding the controversy.
🏀 Reese's Critical Comments, Clark's Shutdown & The Fever's Fight
Angel Reese blew up the internet when her interview with The Chicago Tribune revealed her criticism of her Chicago Sky teammates. She demanded that the front office bring in stars next season, or else she would eventually look to move elsewhere.
Her teammates did not appreciate the tone and demanded a meeting before their game against the Sun. Even decorated point guard Courtney Vandersloot took a shot at Reese for claiming that she could not be trusted, considering her age and recent injury. Eventually, the forward apologized.
Amidst rumors of a possible return to the court, Caitlin Clark released a statement confirming that she was shutting down her season. The recovery from her right groin injury was not enough for her to play.

LeBron James, Tyrese Haliburton, Sabrina Ionescu, and skiing great Lindsey Vonn sent out support and encouraging messages, asking the point guard to recover and return next season with a bang. Now, the Fever have to figure out how to reach a 2nd straight playoff berth.
Along with Chloe Bibby, the franchise has 5 players out for the season. They have three games left to secure a spot in the postseason, knowing the Los Angeles Lakers are breathing down their neck. At the same time, the Golden State Valkyries became the 1st expansion franchise to make the playoffs in their first season of play.
⚾️ Benches-Clearing Brawl & An Umpire's Terrible Night
Tensions are running high in MLB as the season winds down. On Tuesday, benches cleared in Colorado during a Giants-Rockies game. Giants slugger Rafael Devers hit a home run and stared down pitcher Kyle Freeland. Freeland was not happy and yelled back, causing both dugouts to empty.
After a lot of shoving and shouting, three players - Freeland, Willy Adames, and Matt Chapman - were ejected. Devers was allowed to complete his trip around the bases, but only after a 10-minute delay. Post-game, Freeland was fuming and called Devers' actions "extremely disrespectful."
Meanwhile, the Yankees are furious with umpire Brian Walsh. In their loss on Wednesday, Walsh had a notoriously bad night behind the plate. He missed 21 calls, with 15 of them going against New York.

The drama boiled over in the eighth inning. After a bad call, pitcher Devin Williams was ejected for arguing with Walsh. Manager Aaron Boone also got tossed a few moments later.
But it was the ninth inning that sealed the game—and a lot of tempers. With the Yankees down by one, Walsh called a third strike on Jazz Chisholm Jr. on a pitch that was clearly a ball. The strikeout ended the game.
A furious Chisholm had to be restrained. He later took to social media to attack a fan with a one-word NSFW message and repost a tweet from Josh Hart that called the umpire "trash." In other news, both the Dodgers and Padres got swept in their series.
