🏀 Jokic Should Channel Inner 'MJ' and Ant-Man Takes Over LA Streets

The highlight matchup of the weekend was when the Los Angeles Lakers took on the Minnesota Timberwolves with their season on the line. Anthony Edwards and his teammates pushed LeBron James and his teammates around, taunting the 40-year-old from time to time.

At the end, the Wolves won, and James buried the competitiveness to congratulate his Paris Olympics teammate and asked him to take the next step. After the game, Edwards went on a taunting spree. He took to the streets of LA to troll those who predicted that the Lakers would win.

He also revealed that those predictions, particularly from Stephen A. Smith and his ESPN colleagues, along with Paul Pierce’s words, were the motivation that he needed. That motivation helped him win, but the player who needs motivation now is Nikola Jokic.

The Serbian has not played to his standards in Games 5 & 6. The Los Angeles Clippers handed them a tough loss in the latter and now are headed to Colorado in a win-or-go-home Game 7. Inside the NBA’s Jalen Rose has asked Nikola Jokic to feed off Michael Jordan’s approach to Game 7s, as depicted in The Last Dance.

Otherwise, he will again be drawn to a situation where Ivica Zubac makes life difficult for him. The Croatian has been a revelation in these playoffs. Not only is he defending well against the three-time league MVP, but also scoring consistently in double-digits. His performance is a major reason the Clippers have NBA title hopes.

🏈 Jax Ulbrich Fined for Sanders Prank, Belichick-Hudson Saga Sparks Media Storm

Jax Ulbrich, son of former New York Jets interim HC and current Atlanta Falcons DC Jeff Ulbrich, has become the focus of the NFL Draft. It was revealed that he leaked Shedeur Sanders’ private number, meant only for NFL GMs, and also took part in prank calling the now-Cleveland Browns QB.

Once that came to light, the Atlanta Falcons released a formal apology. Jax Ulbrich also apologized, but quite a few media members and former players wanted the league to take action against the college quarterback.

After the league completed its investigation, it slapped a $250,000 fine on the Falcons, while also handing Jeff Ulbrich a $100,000 fine. Sanders has moved on and accepted the reality of his situation and has started working out at the Browns' facilities, hoping to make it to the 2025-26 roster.

The prank call situation has been resolved. But former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick’s relationship has come under scrutiny after his girlfriend Jordon Hudson was captured on camera interfering while he was being interviewed.

The video has caused a furore, with one side believing that the 24-year-old former cheerleader is controlling the life of the future Hall of Fame coach. Then others believe CBS was not forthright in revealing the full context of what went down.

Belichick released a statement that CBS Sunday Morning had deviated from what was agreed upon and chose to ask personal questions. That is why he believes it was justified for Hudson to intervene. The show have also released a press release contradicting the UNC head coach’s statement, leaving the situation unresolved.

🧢 Suárez Makes History, Duran Gets Support, and MLB Faces Heart-Stopping Moments

Eugenio Suárez made MLB history on Saturday night, smashing four home runs in a single game — becoming just the 19th player ever to do so and the first since 2017. His fourth blast came in the bottom of the ninth to tie the game. But despite his heroics, the Diamondbacks fell short in extras, losing in the 10th and denying Suárez a shot at a fifth homer.

A shocking incident occurred during the Pirates vs. Cubs game on April 30, when a fan fell 21 feet over the Clemente Wall and onto the field. The man was later identified as 20-year-old Kavan Markwood, a former college football player. He remains in critical condition as the baseball world sends its thoughts his way.

Off the field, Jarren Duran became the center of a moment that drew widespread condemnation. A fan in Cleveland heckled the Red Sox outfielder over his past suicide attempt. Security removed the individual, and MLB stars like Aaron Judge voiced public support for Duran. “That’s taking it too far,” Judge said firmly.

And while Duran faced heat in Cleveland, he was also on the wrong end of a viral moment. Blue Jays’ Daulton Varsho made a jaw-dropping backhanded catch robbing Duran of a hit — a defensive highlight that racked up over 5 million views online.

🏁 Logano Melts Down, Dale Jr. Wants Chaos, and Busch Almost Joined Jordan

Talladega brought chaos, but Joey Logano’s radio blew up louder than the engines. After a botched move from teammate Austin Cindric cost him playoff points, Logano went off on a profanity-laced rant over team radio. MLB legend Chipper Jones didn’t like it and called him out.

Logano fired back at North Wilkesboro. He said he was surprised a fellow pro athlete would “mouth off” like a random on Twitter. Then dropped the mic: “All I can think is he’s trying to be relevant still.”

Meanwhile, Dale Earnhardt Jr. wants NASCAR to scrap the regular season. He floated the idea of making the entire season one big playoff. “Start the playoffs at Daytona and go all year,” he said. Why? Dale Jr. thinks drivers play it too safe early on. “There’s not a lot of urgency. In the old system, a bad race could kill your title hopes.” He wants every lap, every race, to matter — from Week 1.

And in the land of what-could-have-beens: Kyle Busch revealed he tried to join Michael Jordan’s 23XI Racing after leaving Joe Gibbs Racing. He called MJ directly to pitch himself.

It didn’t work out, but Busch said the convo stayed professional. His wife, though? Total fangirl. “She’d have lost it,” Busch laughed. He ended up at RCR — but the Jordan-Busch crossover almost happened.
