⚾️ LA's Near-Sweep, Toronto's Tie, and the Jeter-Cashman War of Words

The Los Angeles Dodgers are dominating the NL Championship Series, moving one win away from the World Series. They took a commanding 3-0 series lead over the Milwaukee Brewers with a narrow 3-1 victory in Game 3. Key contributions came from Tyler Glasnow's strong 5.2 innings and a tiebreaking single from Tommy Edman in the sixth.

The Dodgers' pitching has been stellar, allowing no more than one run in four straight postseason games. They look to become the first defending champion to reach the World Series in 16 years. Game 4 gives the Dodgers a chance to sweep the Brewers and advance to the championship series.

In the American League Championship Series, the Toronto Blue Jays have mounted a fierce comeback against the Seattle Mariners. The Blue Jays tied the series at two games apiece with an 8-2 win in Game 4. Toronto's offense erupted after falling behind 2-0 in the series, including a home run from Andrés Giménez in the decisive Game 4 victory.

Veteran pitcher Max Scherzer provided a vintage performance in his return from a neck issue, setting the tone for the Blue Jays' win. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. also added a late solo shot as the series shifted to a best-of-three. The comeback means Game 5 is now a crucial rematch between starting pitchers.

Meanwhile, Yankees General Manager Brian Cashman has fired back at criticism from former stars Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez following the team's playoff exit. Jeter had suggested that the front office, and not manager Aaron Boone, was making the managerial decisions. Cashman vehemently denied the claim, calling it a "sad throwaway comment" from people who "clearly, they don't know."

The GM did admit that the Blue Jays, who defeated the Yankees in the American League Division Series, "rolled" them in both the regular season and the postseason. Cashman stated he even called Jeter to discuss the comments, though Jeter stood by his footnoted observation. The Yankees' World Series drought now extends to 16 years.

Josh Allen also faced criticism for the Bills’ Week 6 loss to the Atlanta Falcons on Monday Night Football. Now, many are rethinking their preseason predictions about the Bills’ Super Bowl hopes.

Kicker Jake Moody had a redemption arc for the ages, after he scored 13 points along with the game-winning field goal for the Chicago Bears, weeks after he was let go by the San Francisco 49ers. After the game, fans slammed Troy Aikman for needlessly bashing Caleb Williams.

Skip Bayless caused a furor when he lambasted Travis Hunter’s decision to be baptized before their game on Sunday. The Jaguars' two-way star reiterated that by baptism, he became a new man on God’s day.

His Colorado teammate, Shilo Sanders, tricked fans in Pittsburgh by wearing his brother, Shedeur Sanders’ jersey. The Browns QB has now reversed his earlier stance and is now supportive of Dillon Gabriel.

 Steelers HC Mike Tomlin claimed that the Browns were intentionally trying to unsettle the conference by trading Joe Flacco to the Bengals. His logic came to fruition after Flacco outdueled Aaron Rodgers to help the Bengals win on Thursday Night Football.

Jerry Jones has come under a lot of flak again for sticking with defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus, despite the Cowboys struggling with a league-worst defense. At least Tua Tagovailoa took some heat off his back after he apologized to his teammates for throwing them under the bus.

💃 Clark Meets Taylor, Reese Hits the Runway

Caitlin Clark started her offseason by watching her favorite NFL team while also fangirling over Taylor Swift. The Fever star was invited to Travis Kelce’s suite, where she met the Grammy Award-winning artist.

It was also revealed that the point guard will delve into another of her favorite hobbies, golf, when she takes on the likes of Nelly Korda and others to battle for the $3.25 million purse at The Annika Pro/Am gold tournament next month.

One of her former teammates, NaLyssa Smith, clapped back at hating Fever fans who painted her as being the weakest link of the 2024 Indiana Fever team. As a champion, she had the last laugh. So did Dana Evans, who trolled Angel Reese’s fans who blamed her for the Sky’s troubles last season.

Reese boldly claimed that she would rather take the fine than talk to the media before and after games. That is why she did her exit interview through her podcast, Unapologetically Angel.

The forward was the star of this year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in New York. She became the first professional athlete to walk the ramp for the lingerie brand. Reese rubbed shoulders with supermodels Adriana Lima and others, as she displayed two outfits for the brand.
