🏌️ Scheffler's Open Reign & Tiger's Twin Feat

Scottie Scheffler, the golf world's undisputed No. 1, has done it again! He just captured his second major title of the season, and an impressive fourth overall career major, by winning The Open Championship. It seems like winning majors is becoming a habit for the American phenom.

Scheffler showcased his world-beating form right from the start. He carded stellar rounds of 68, 64, and 67 in the first three days, entering the final round as the clear 54-hole leader. By the time he strolled up to the final hole, the victory was already sealed. He finished with an impressive 17-under par, a comfortable four strokes ahead of runner-up Harris English.

This latest triumph brings Scheffler tantalizingly close to a career Grand Slam. He has now completed three of the four major legs, needing only a U.S. Open win to join an elite group of just seven players to achieve the feat. It's a reminder of his consistent brilliance at the sport's biggest events.

His dominant win on Sunday naturally reignited comparisons to none other than Tiger Woods. And for good reason! Scheffler actually matched an unbelievable record with the golf legend. Both Woods (from his 1997 Masters win to his 2000 Open Championship) and Scheffler (from his 2022 Masters to his 2025 Open) achieved their first four major wins in exactly 1,197 days. Talk about hitting the greens running!

🔥 Klay's New Flame, Shaq's Tiger Tale & Lakers' Smart Move

With the Summer League in session, no one expected Klay Thompson to lead the headlines. He has been publicly open about his relationship with rapper Megan Thee Stallion, and even showed off her $300K gift to the cameras.

Olympic gymnast Sunisa Lee was also the subject of a lot of speculation after rumors linked her with Knicks star OG Anunoby. But she cleared the air, confirming that they are nothing more than just friends.

Shaquille O’Neal is friends with boxing legend Mike Tyson. When speaking to the boxer on his podcast, the Diesel revealed Tyson had to wrestle his white tiger to stop it from nearly chasing the NBA star.

O’Neal’s former team, the Los Angeles Lakers, is trying to add players to help LeBron James and Luka Doncic. They finalized a deal with Marcus Smart, who has agreed to a buyout with his former team, and is expected to clear waivers soon.

To make space for him, the team has already waived two other young prospects. The franchise seems to be doing all it can before training camp starts. James wants to fight for a title before retiring.

🏀 All-Star Sparks, Engelbert's Groove & Pay Equity Push

Caitlin Clark cheered from her courtside seats as Fever teammate Lexie Hull took her place in the 3-point contest. But without practice, she stood no chance, and finished 2nd to last. Unsurprisingly, it was won by 2023 champion and record-holder, Sabrina Ionescu.

The skills challenge saw former Fever star Erica Wheeler and the Liberty’s Natasha Cloud go head-to-head in the finals. The latter won the contest and claimed that the $55 winnings would go towards the purchase of her house.

During the party after those contests, the StudBudz live streaming crew caught up with WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert. After praising them for their efforts to boost the league’s popularity, she broke out her dance moves, leaving players and fans watching shocked.

Before the All-Star game started, she and her fellow All-Stars took to the court wearing ‘Pay Us What You Owe Us’ T-Shirts. It was a message to the league and its owners, who have not been giving the women any leeway in CBA negotiations.

After the game ended, Engelbert was about to speak. Then Fever fans chanted ‘Pay Them’ in solidarity. Players were stunned when the Indiana fans supported their stance, much to the surprise of the league and ESPN.

Later at a press conference, Kelsey Plum was speaking about this movement to get their due share. While speaking about it, she joked about Clark’s team not being present when deciding on the T-shirts. This drew some flak from fans, who believed she should have kept quiet about it.

🏈 NFLPA's Turmoil, Sharpe's Settlement & Trump's Commanders Demand

The NFLPA was supposed to be the union where players could take their grievances and find a solution. Its chief, Lloyd Howell Jr., resigned after reports of him utilizing union money and time to attend strip clubs.

This came after investigations by journalists revealed that the union had colluded with the league and its owners to withhold information from players about the owners’ decisions.

Former Browns star, JC Tretter, was supposed to succeed him. But he too has resigned. The Union now has to figure out its succession plan, and at the same time, battle backlash from players, both current and former.

The controversy involving Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe, as well as a young female, is over, after the two settled her lawsuit out of court. The woman has now quit OnlyFans, leading football fans to assume the settlement was sizeable enough, if not the $50 million she sued Sharpe for.

President Donald Trump is piling the pressure on the Washington Commanders and their owners. He wants them to return to the Redskins name, and is ready to block their upcoming stadium deal until they do so.

Whatever they decide, it is unlikely to impact Von Miller’s jersey this season. He signed a 1-year deal to join the up-and-coming franchise after he lost his job last season. He has stated that he wants to wear former Broncos teammate Champ Bailey’s No. 24 jersey.

🏁 Winners & Losers: 2025 Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 400 at Dover 🚩

🏆 Winners

Denny Hamlin "Denny D." truly delivered a masterclass at Dover, snatching his fourth win of the 2025 season. He brilliantly navigated three chaotic late-race restarts, including a double-overtime scramble. Even on older tires, Hamlin held off aggressive young guns, showcasing flawless execution under immense pressure. This victory not only cements his championship favorite status but also further burnishes his already impressive legacy.

Chase Briscoe Briscoe turned in one of his most impactful performances of the season, clinching a well-earned second place. He remained a contender throughout the entire race, even mounting a serious challenge to Hamlin in those frantic final laps. While just shy of victory, this was a powerful statement race for Briscoe, providing a crucial boost as he battles for consistency and a solid playoff spot.

Alex Bowman Bowman quietly put together an excellent day, securing third place and bagging valuable stage points. After a season plagued by frustrating near-misses, this Dover result is a much-needed reminder of Bowman’s talent. It could very well be the turning point his team needs to ignite a strong late-season playoff push.

Kyle Larson Larson showcased his relentless drive, bouncing back brilliantly after a poor qualifying effort left him starting deep in the field. He sliced through the pack, moving from 25th to finish an impressive fourth. It wasn't a flashy performance, but it highlighted Larson's signature blend of aggression and precision—exactly the kind of race that makes him such a formidable force heading into the postseason.

❌ Losers

Chase Elliott Elliott undoubtedly walked away as the day's biggest heartbreaker. Despite starting on pole and leading a staggering 238 laps, victory slipped through his fingers. Late-race pit strategy missteps and worn tires proved costly, as Elliott faded in the final stages. A seemingly dominant win transformed into a missed opportunity for a season-defining moment.

Tyler Reddick Reddick's car showed promising speed early on, but he couldn't maintain the pace as the race unfolded. He tumbled out of the top 15 by the checkered flag, delivering yet another inconsistent result. This continues a frustrating pattern for the 23XI driver, who has demonstrated flashes of brilliance but struggled with consistent execution.

William Byron Byron endured a disappointing day at Dover, never quite finding his rhythm. Despite high expectations at a track typically favorable to Hendrick Motorsports, Byron spent most of the race mired in the mid-pack. He failed to make any meaningful forward progress, resulting in a quiet and underwhelming outing for a driver who began the season with championship-caliber form.

Pit Road Execution Pit road proved to be a major headache for several teams throughout the race. Costly mistakes, sluggish stops, and critical miscommunications were rampant, especially with the numerous late-race restarts. In a race where every fraction of a second mattered, teams that fumbled their pit stops paid a steep price in lost track position and, ultimately, their final results.
