👋 Hey FirstFans!

This week, the NBA regular season winds down, while the women in the other league sign multi-million dollar contracts before the start of training camp. The Patriots find themselves being dragged every day, whereas golfing excellence continues to enthrall fans.

Let’s dive into the action!

Today’s WOW moments from the sports world!

Angel Reese Is Now ATL Barbie, WNBA’s Free Agency Flury, Kelsey Plum’s $1 Pay Cut

After losing two players to the WNBA expansion draft, most of Caitlin Clark’s teammates from the 2025 season have re-signed with the Indiana Fever. The team also signed her Puerto Rico Team USA running mate, Monique Billings.

It was quite different for Angel Reese, whom the Chicago Sky traded to the Atlanta Dream in exchange for two first-round picks. On the very next day, the forward celebrated another victory after modelling for a Victoria's Secret campaign.

Her former team has also made major moves in free agency, bringing in Rickea Jackson via trade, and signing Azure Stevens, DiJonai Carrington, and Skyler Diggins. However, sending one of those first-round picks they obtained from the Dream for Jacy Sheldon surprised fans.

Defending champion Las Vegas Aces have signed most of their core, with Jackie Young being the first player ever to break the $1 million salary mark. A’ja Wilson has yet to put pen to paper, and their fans are waiting to see what amount she settles on.

They will need her to decide quickly, as rivals New York Liberty lured superstar Satou Sabally. Now they have four All-Stars on their roster. The forward’s sister, Nyara Sabally, has reunited with former Liberty coach Sandy Brondello on the Toronto Tempo.

Kelsey Plum took a pay cut to stay with the Sparks, signing a one-year, $999,999 contract. She joked about the missing dollar, but fans understood it was to save the additional 1% tax hit in California. Plum’s pay cut helped the Sparks add veteran stars, pushing them towards title contention.

The upcoming WNBA season will be exciting. Stay tuned for our updates.

LeBron James’ solo effort, Shams Charania’s Bucks revenge, and Charles Barkley’s fury

LeBron James took on the burden of leading the Los Angeles Lakers and powered them to three straight wins. Even though some believe he will not be able to continue with this for long, the 41-year-old is now preparing for a first-round battle against Kevin Durant’s Rockets.

The former’s ex-teammate, Anthony Davis, revealed how the trade involving Luka Doncic went down. He first thought he was going to join the Slovenian. Then, he was shocked to realize that he was moving in place of the guard.

The turmoil surrounding the Milwaukee Bucks reached a point where Doc Rivers revealed that ESPN’s Shams Charania created the narrative that the head coach had taunted his players with his resume.

The player who leaked and exaggerated it is no longer with the team. Then, after losing their final game of the season, it was announced that Rivers was stepping down. Giannis Antetokounmpo was left shocked, but there is a chance they will continue to work if Rivers takes up a job upstairs.

Jayson Tatum returned to Madison Square Garden nervous, as it was the first time he was going to step on the same floor that took out his Achilles tendon last year. Eventually, he managed to get past the fear and performed well even though Jaylen Brown was not there to support him.

Tatum and Brown did not play their last game of the regular season, and neither did nearly 200 players across the league. Charles Barkley and his crew were livid, with the former labeling this a ‘disrespect’ to the league and its fans.

Patriots’ headache, Fernando Mendoza’s actions, and the TayVis Wedding Plans

The Patriots, or rather Mike Vrabel specifically, were the subject of several debates after he was pictured holding hands, hugging, and hanging out in a pool with The Athletic’s senior NFL Insider Dianna Russini.

Both brushed off the allegations, suggesting that they had friends for company. However, the New York Times has initiated an investigation into Russini, and Vrabel is skipping the Patriots' Pre-Draft press conference.

Skip Bayless claimed that winning Super Bowl LIX got to Jalen Hurts’s head. However, Jason Kelce has come out in support of his teammate. Hurts will get another weapon after the Eagles traded for Dontayvion Wicks, even though AJ Brown’s future is still uncertain.

ESPN had to delete a video after Dan Orlovsky claimed that Lamar Jackson was not present at the Ravens’ training camp. Immediately after that clip aired, video proof emerged of Jackson working out with new head coach Jesse Minter.

Fernando Mendoza revealed he will not be attending the draft in Pittsburgh and instead will be with his family. Fans were annoyed by this, but they also defended him when a controversial tweet about LeBron James and George Floyd from six years ago resurfaced.

Kirk Cousins revealed he and the Heisman trophy winner went over some film while Mendoza was at the Raiders’ for his official visit. The veteran admitted to him possibly backing up the rookie, if needed.

Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift had initially set June 13th for their wedding and even booked a mansion in Rhode Island. That plan has been canceled. A new date is rumored to be July 3rd , with the wedding now scheduled to take place in New York.

Rory McIlroy Creates History at the Masters

Rory McIlroy won the Masters Tournament once again. The World No. 2 entered the event this year at Augusta National as the defending champion and aiming to do something that had not been done since 2002.

He fired a score of 67 in the opening round, leading to Fred Couples jokingly claiming that he may never lose this thing again. It seemed like a cake walk for him at that stage. In the final round, he shot 1-under par.

He was leading by 2 shots when he entered the par-4 18th hole. McIlroy's first shot hit the tree while his second shot found the bunker. His third crucial shot landed on the greens, leaving him with 2 putts to win.

After missing the birdie putt, he tapped it from close range for a bogey and finished 1 shot ahead of World No.1 Scottie Scheffler. McIlroy thus became the 4th golfer to successfully defend the Masters Title since Tiger Woods did it in 2001-02.

McIlroy became a 6-time major champion, drawing level with Phil Mickelson, Lee Trevino, and Sir Nick Faldo for the 7th-most majors. As for the prize money, McIlroy earned a whopping $4.5 million from the $22.5 million purse
