Steve Kerr’s Future Uncertain and LaMelo Ball’s ‘Dirty Play’

The play-in games tipped off with LaMelo Ball in the news for the wrong reasons. He seemed to have intentionally tripped Heat center Bam Adebayo, causing the latter to miss the rest of the game. Ball later stated that he would apologize.

Nick Wright labeled Ball a ‘clown,’ which did not sit well with his brother Lonzo Ball and his father LaVar Ball. They, too, labeled the analyst as such. But Wright had the last laugh when the Hornets guard posted a miserable 2-point first half in their play-in Finals loss to the Magic

The Warriors bowed out of the play-in despite Draymond Green’s stellar defensive performances, leaving head coach Steve Kerr uncertain about his future. At least former teammate Chris Paul indirectly thanked them for ousting the Clippers first.

Many wrote off LeBron James and his Lakers’ chances ahead of their clash against Kevin Durant and the Houston Rockets. When the Slim Reaper was not available for Game 1, the men in purple and gold used it to their advantage and stunned the Rockets.

James also made history by sharing the floor with his son, Bronny James, another first as a father and son duo. Luka Doncic is back in the country after visiting specialists in Europe, but head coach JJ Redick is not placing any timeline on his or Austin Reaves’ return.

Michael Jordan and Charles Barkley are back on speaking terms and will be playing golf together soon. At least that was some good news for the latter, even though he was frustrated with Dillon Brooks’ antics that cost the Suns their first game in the playoffs.

The playoffs are setting up to be entertaining. Stick around next week for the top stories.

Money Rains on A’ja Wilson and Aliyah Boston

The WNBA Draft came around with the Dallas Wings unsurprisingly picking Azzi Fudd with the first overall pick. At her press conference, she was asked about her relationship status with franchise cornerstone Paige Bueckers.

But before she could answer, the team’s PR executive reinforced the stance that personal questions would not be entertained. This situation drew backlash, as many felt the WNBA was suddenly playing by double standards, as such questions are often asked of men.

The draft also saw the Indiana Fever draft Raven Johnson, the same player whom Caitlin Clark waved off in the 2023 Final Four. A clip resurfaced where Johnson talks about quitting the sport after that incident. That explains the fury from fans who felt this stalemate would unsettle the locker room.

Clark’s excitement was evident when they handed Aliyah Boston a four-year, $6.3 million contract. That becomes the richest contract in league history, but the record for the highest average salary stays with A’ja Wilson, who signed a 3-year, $5 million deal.

At her inaugural Atlanta Dream press conference, Angel Reese subtly dissed the Chicago Sky. She stated that she is now with a team that cares for its players. ATL Barbie has already kicked off her life in Atlanta by meeting Cardi B at her Little Miss Drama Tour.

The Golden State Valkyries drafted Flau’jae Johnson and then immediately traded her to the Seattle Storm. She arrived to much fanfare, but was then saddened to know that franchise legend and minority owner Sue Bird ended her relationship with soccer great Megan Rapinoe.

The WNBA season is taking shape. Come back next week for more news.

More Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini News, While Dexter Lawrence Has a New Office

The Mike Vrabel-Dianna Russini scandal took a turn for the worse when the journalist resigned from her job with The Athletic. Even though she reiterated that she was not doing so out of guilt, many felt that had the mother of two been innocent, she might not have had to take such a step.

It was then revealed that the Patriots’ head coach and Russini had coordinated their statements to Page Six. Fortunately for him, the NFL will not be reviewing his conduct, even though many believe he is at fault for a questionable relationship with an NFL media personality.

His team is still being touted as a potential destination for Eagles’ wideout AJ Brown, even though GM Howie Roseman reiterated that the receiver is an integral part of their team. Some believe June 2nd will provide answers.

Micah Parsons congratulated Will Anderson Jr. after the Texans gave him a record-setting raise. But Skip Bayless is not sure that handing the pass-rusher $50 million a season was worth it, especially as there were more productive and impactful players in the league.

The New York Giants also had a productive and impactful player in Dexter Lawrence, but chose not to pay heed to his demands for a salary hike. Instead, they traded him to the Cincinnati Bengals in exchange for the 2026 No. 10 overall pick.

With the draft approaching, the Giants can either use that and their No. 5 overall pick to select talent or trade for other assets. Chiefs GM Brett Veach believes this draft will have quite a lot of trades.

Tyler Reddick Stuns Hamlin, Matches Dale Earnhardt Record as Michael Jordan Fires Shots and Kyle Busch Drama Grows

Tyler Reddick stole the spotlight at Kansas with a dramatic overtime win, passing Denny Hamlin after a late restart. The victory also saw him match a historic record set by Dale Earnhardt, confirming his incredible form this season.

The win led to a fun moment off track, as 23XI Racing co-owner Michael Jordan said he couldn’t wait to trash-talk Hamlin. He praised Reddick’s performance and highlighted the team’s strong momentum.

Meanwhile, Hamlin responded calmly to Kyle Busch’s “make life hell” warning, calling it typical NASCAR frustration. He said such comments rarely lead to major changes on track.

Hamlin also added that the sport needs the “old Kyle Busch,” saying fiery personalities bring excitement and energy to NASCAR.
