After a heroic effort in Game 3, A’ja Wilson started Game 4 of the WNBA Finals on the same note, dominating the game in almost every facet, as her Aces sprang to the lead and kept it that way through the first 3 quarters.
In that segment, the Phoenix Mercury started to claw back at the deficit, but were still some way off. Head coach Nate Tibbetts was then given his marching orders after he aggressively confronted an official about a missed call.
Despite their 4th quarter rally, the Aces held on just enough to clinch their 3rd WNBA title in 4 years. A’ja Wilson became the first player, in both the women’s side and the NBA, to win league MVP, DPOY, scoring title, and Finals MVP in the same season.

When Commissioner Cathy Engelbert was handing out those awards, the fans inside the arena booed her, leading Wilson to have a surreal reaction. Later at the post-game press conference, a drunk Wilson laughed hysterically when asked about the boos.
After winning the title, Wilson first embraced her family and held boyfriend Bam Adebayo in a tight hug, thanking him for instilling belief in her. Later, Adebayo joked about how drunk his girlfriend was.
Her teammates, Dana Evans and NaLyssa Smith, clapped back at Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark’s fans who pointed fingers at them for the troubles of their favorite players. Evans and Smith won the title after exactly one year of facing those criticisms.

LeBron James continued to grace the sidelines as his Lakers finally won their 1st preseason game against the Warriors. Son Bronny James had a better outing, scoring off 50% shooting, and nailing all his free throws.
Kevin Durant made his debut for the Houston Rockets in their preseason game against the Utah Jazz. He scored 20 points in 23 minutes and also took the time to silence Jazz rookie Ace Bailey, who was chirping during their loss.

Cooper Flagg is slowly getting to grips with playing alongside Anthony Davis and his other Dallas Mavericks teammates. Dylan Harper, who was picked right after him in this year’s draft, is working on his connection with Victor Wembanyama, throwing him a lob in their last game.
The Portland Trail Blazers seem to have found a gem in the form of Chinese center Yang Hansen, who was scoring with ease in their win against the Jazz. He scored 16 points in just 17 minutes, helping his team win.
Defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder is yet to field their title-winning team, sending in role players and two-way athletes against Finals opponents, the Indiana Pacers. The next few games will see a significant ramp-up from top players.
🏈 Dowdle Haunts Dallas; Brawl Mars Chiefs' Victory
Week 6 saw the Dolphins lose their game against the Chargers, which led QB Tua Tagovailoa to bizarrely throw the entire team under the bus. Those comments sparked some agitated remarks from former players.
The Dallas Cowboys travelled to North Carolina, knowing they were the favorites to win against the Panthers. But it was their former running back, Rico Dowdle, who had the last laugh, using his legs and his hands to run his former team out of their field with a loss.
Baker Mayfield produced another heroic run in their win against the San Francisco 49ers. This time, it was a 3rd quarter attempt at crossing the 1st down marker. Fans inside the stadium, and analysts have been calling him a potential MVP candidate.
In the early stages of this game, Mayfield was seen praying while kneeling after 49ers linebacker Fred Warner went down with an injury. He broke and dislocated his ankle after a teammate fell on it, which means he would miss the season.
WNBA superstar Caitlin Clark made her way to watch the Kansas City Chiefs and met Taylor Swift again. It seems the two combined are a lucky charm for the franchise, as they won against the Detroit Lions.
With a few seconds left, and the game almost over, Lions star Brian Branch decided not to shake Patrick Mahomes’ hand, which irked Chiefs wideout JuJu Smith-Schuster, who started jawing with the safety.
In retaliation, Branch punched the Chiefs receiver in the face, and it sparked a brawl between multiple players. Teammates and security staff had to intervene and separate them. After the game, Lions head coach Dan Campbell lambasted his player for doing something unnecessary.
⛳️ Tiger Woods’ Career On The Brink After 7th Back Surgery
Golf fans were met with sobering news on Friday as Tiger Woods underwent his seventh back surgery, this time to replace a collapsed disc in his lower spine. The procedure was necessitated by persistent pain and lack of mobility, a familiar chapter in the long injury saga of the 15-time major champion. Woods has been sidelined since March, when he ruptured his Achilles tendon while recovering from a previous back operation.
This latest operation marks the 49-year-old’s third surgery in just 13 months and raises profound questions about his future in professional golf. Woods, who will turn 50 in December, has not competed since the 2024 Open Championship, and sources indicate it's highly likely he will not play again this year as he enters an extended period of recovery and rehabilitation.
For many, this is another difficult reminder of the physical toll an elite career has taken on one of the game's greatest. Woods' incredible comeback to win the 2019 Masters followed spinal fusion surgery, but the subsequent injuries have proven relentless. Fans now wonder if we have seen the last of him in competitive golf, prioritizing his long-term health over an eighth decade on the PGA Tour.
The news was met with sadness and well-wishes from across the golf community, including long-time rival Phil Mickelson. Lefty took to social media to send a heartfelt message to Woods, expressing sorrow for the setback and wishing him a speedy recovery. While the comeback trail has become second nature to Tiger, this latest hurdle feels particularly steep.
